MCKINLEY COUNTY, N.M. (October 20, 2021) – ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½¶ÌÊÓƵÆƽâ°æ Inc., recently started work on a new 300 megawatt (MW) solar array in McKinley County, N.M.
“We are excited to begin construction on the Arroyo Solar project in New Mexico,” said Sundt Renewables Managing Director Tom Dodson. “As the landscape continues to shift toward renewable energy, Sundt and our team are adapting to provide value to our clients by building clean, sustainable power plants. The project also presents a great opportunity to work with the many local communities to provide labor and services throughout its lifecycle.”
The project is one of four total solar generation and storage projects initiated by the Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM), which together will total 950 MW and more than $1 billion in capital expenditures. PNM’s large-scale move toward solar comes in response to market demands and the state of New Mexico’s Energy Transition Act, which calls for 50% of the state’s electricity to come from renewables by 2030 and 80% by 2040.
Launched in 2020, Sundt Renewables focuses on utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across the United States. The Group has a depth of experience and expertise in renewable project development, financing, engineering, construction and operations. Led by longtime solar industry experts, the wholly owned subsidiary has a combined experience of 1.8GWdc of completed projects in the United States and Canada.
